The main purpose of the site is to get magazines to hire me to shoot editorial assignments and I'm seeking feedback on design and photo selection, so please let me know what you think.
I've also recently finished my BFA at Concordia. It feels too soon, I'm not sure what to say about it.
great job, the site is a good balance of personal and commercial work and gives a good insight into your style. wish you luck with new assignments! how does it feel being out of university with a degree? what are your plans afterwards? i am studying photography as well and constantly feel confused about it... wonder if you had similar feelings.
I do feel confused, yes. YES! Sometimes I feel that there is more creativity in talking and writing about photography than there is in making photos. I felt like I was learning something, and I did learn a lot, but it was also hard to keep my own ideas clear. In that sense I'm glad it's over, and I feel I can focus and take time to think clearly. On the other hand I feel like I could use another year of school to adjust to all of the new ideas I was learning about.
Dividing personal work and commercial work was one of the hard parts, actually. I mean technically almost everything on there is "personal/art" work. The only photos on there that I did as a job was shooting Osheaga for Blackberry. I'm not sure if I should include projects that were done as art projects on the site though, it feels weird. But if I want to show photos of people, then the work I did for school is really my best examples...
Hopfully it will be easier when I have more examples of commercial work
Oh cool, you're now a newborn photographer with a degree.
Erik, you never sucked!
By the way, I like so much this freshy flashy yo yo feeling in your website, with that yellow background for every section, and then everything black and white, and so clean, but big, and hey, here's what i got, you chekadee.
(ohmannohmann, photographer and chinese expert! I thought it was merely amateur)
Dear Erik, you asked how we were. And well, I can tell you I'm not drunk. I swear. Let's call the whole thing off-
On a side note I have also learned some (very little) chinese in the past, how is that for a coincidence!
